ADOR, the agency behind NewJeans, has been accused of leaking the visa-related personal information of member Hanni, who holds Australian citizenship.
Cultural critic Kim Sung-su held a press conference in front of the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the morning of the 28th, announcing that he filed a complaint against ADOR and affiliated executives and staff for allegedly violating the Personal Information Protection Act.
Kim claims that during the exclusive contract dispute, ADOR provided certain entertainment reporters with Hanni's visa-related personal details—information learned in the course of business—without her consent.
The complaint alleges ADOR leaked business-acquired personal data to outside parties, including the type of Hanni's E-6 (Arts and Performances) visa, its expiration timeline, and the status of her visa extension application documents, thereby violating the Personal Information Protection Act.
Kim was quoted as saying, "Only the immigration authorities, the individual concerned, and the agency handling the process could possibly know the expiration date of a foreign national's visa in Korea and the progress of any extension application. How could this highly classified internal information—impossible for reporters to access through normal newsgathering—have surfaced to the world from behind the veil of 'multiple music industry insiders'?"
