Kim Ji-young, known from Channel A’s dating reality show Heart Signal 4, opened up about how she and her husband prepared for their wedding—and how the costs were structured.
On April 12, Kim uploaded a video to her YouTube channel documenting her wedding prep. In it, she personally answered fans’ most-asked questions about the wedding. Addressing how the expenses were split, Kim said, “Neither side received any financial support from our parents.”
She added, “My husband covered all wedding-related expenses,” drawing attention. There was a reason behind that choice. “Because of the nature of my job, I received many sponsorships and discounts, which helped bring down the overall cost,” she explained. “Plus, the home I lived in before marriage already had furniture and appliances, so we barely spent anything on household setup.”
The wedding itself was massive. “We had around 1,000 guests, and the venue had high per-guest meal costs, so the total added up,” Kim revealed. “That said, in the end we were able to cover a significant portion with cash gifts from guests,” she added.
As for the exact total, she held back: “Sharing a specific figure wouldn’t be helpful, so I won’t disclose it.”
Kim Ji-young recently tied the knot with entrepreneur Yoon Soo-young, who runs a book club community. The couple announced they were expecting before the wedding, and they recently showcased their sweet newlywed life on SBS’s variety show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny.
