A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault following a report filed with police.
According to Channel A on April 16, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul arrested the suspect after responding to a report made the previous day.
The man is accused of meeting a woman at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, before taking her to his residence and attempting unwanted physical contact.
The woman stated that they had arranged to meet through a paid “meal date” and that the man had assured her there would be no sexual contact. She alleged that he later attempted to assault her.
She reportedly hid in a bathroom and contacted an acquaintance, who then reported the situation to authorities. Police arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect.
During questioning, the suspect acknowledged physical contact but denied coercion. Police are currently reviewing the details of the case and considering further charges.
The case has drawn public attention after reports noted that the suspect is related to a member of a girl group.
