Comedian Park Myung-soo and his manager of nearly 20 years, director Han Kyung-ho, are reportedly going their separate ways — and the industry is buzzing with theories about what led to their split.
Recently, YouTuber and former reporter Lee Jin-ho claimed on his channel that "the long partnership between Park Myung-soo and Han Kyung-ho has effectively come to an end." He added, "Cracks began to show late last year," alleging that some people around Park advised him to "move to a bigger company."
Lee further said that "since early this year, Han Kyung-ho had been effectively stepping away from day-to-day manager duties." Citing acquaintances, he claimed Han was under significant stress and had a tough time during the separation process. However, these points are solely from Lee Jin-ho’s channel and have not been officially confirmed.
Park Myung-soo and Han Kyung-ho have worked closely together since around 2005. Beyond a typical manager role, Han was known as one of Park’s closest aides, frequently appearing on MBC’s variety show Infinite Challenge and YouTube’s Halmyungsoo, making him familiar to the public.
Several stories highlighting their strong bond were shared in the past. Through social media, Han once expressed gratitude to Park for personally taking the wheel during long-haul schedule trips. He also revealed that during a Yeosu event run, Park drove hundreds of kilometers for him, which became a hot topic at the time.
Amid the rumors, Park Myung-soo announced a new chapter on the 14th by signing an exclusive contract with new agency CP Entertainment, home to stars like Shin Dong-yeob and Lee Su-ji. The agency commented, "We will fully support Park Myung-soo so he can receive even greater love as an entertainer who transcends generations."
The news of their split after nearly two decades has left fans disappointed. Attention now turns to what new paths the two will take as they move forward separately.
