On the 25th, SBS Unanswered Questions tracks the secrets behind the Yangpyeong Dumulmeori body disposal case, where the victim’s remains still haven’t been found 100 days on.
On January 21, a report that delivery worker Jun-woo Lee had gone missing set the Yangpyeong Dumulmeori case in motion. Colleagues suspected that Mr. Sung, who lived with Jun-woo, may have assaulted him, but Mr. Sung denied any crime, claiming Jun-woo had gone off to gamble. However, CCTV from the apartment complex on the night of January 14 captured what appeared to be Jun-woo’s death, and footage showed Mr. Sung dragging him away, leading to Sung’s emergency arrest.
During the investigation, Mr. Sung confessed that he killed Jun-woo in a sudden fight over fuel money and dumped the body near Yongdam Bridge by Yangpyeong’s Dumulmeori. Yet despite a 100-day search, the remains have not been found. The bereaved family argues Sung’s statement is unreliable, leaving the case shrouded in mystery.
Amid the stalemate, the Unanswered Questions team zeroed in on tips. The producers recently received a tip from someone who claimed Mr. Sung disclosed the real disposal site. The tipster alleged, "It is in Yangpyeong but buried somewhere other than Dumulmeori, and I heard he lied because he was afraid tools he used would be discovered," hinting at the possibility of an accomplice. Whether this tip is true—and whether Mr. Sung is hiding another layer of the truth—will be revealed on the broadcast at 11:10 p.m. that night.
