AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun drew attention after expressing sincere gratitude toward singer-actor IU, highlighting their long-standing senior-junior bond.
On April 9, AKMU appeared on MBC FM4U’s Kim Shin-young’s Hope Song at Noon to promote their fourth full-length album ‘Bloom.’ During the broadcast, a listener mentioned IU’s recent praise for AKMU on Lee Sang-soon’s radio program, and Lee Su-hyun revealed she had already seen the comment.
IU previously described AKMU as “adorable juniors but absolute geniuses and artists I truly respect.” Responding to this, Lee Su-hyun said, “We don’t contact each other often, but we always keep up with each other’s activities and support one another,” adding, “She’s the senior I respect the most.”
She continued, “When IU chose her most cherished junior, she didn’t mention AKMU as a group, but me specifically,” and added, “She’s a big sister I truly love, and I felt very grateful when I saw that.” Lee Chan-hyuk responded playfully to her remarks, drawing laughter in the studio.
Meanwhile, AKMU are actively promoting their new album ‘Bloom.’ Lee Chan-hyuk shared that the project was inspired by moments where joy and sadness coexist, reflecting the duo’s evolving musical perspective.
