SBS drama ‘We Sold Out Again Today’ is gaining attention early in its run, driven by the on-screen chemistry between Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin.
Episode 2, which aired on April 23, followed Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo-seop), a mushroom farm owner, and Dam Ye-jin (Chae Won-bin) as they became entangled in a tense push-and-pull dynamic centered around obtaining the farm owner’s contact information.
In the episode, Dam Ye-jin spotted a rare white flowercap mushroom on Matthew Lee’s tractor and, mistaking him for a farmhand, asked for the owner’s contact. Matthew concealed his identity and avoided the request, saying the owner was away.
Their connection deepened through interactions involving Songhakdaek (Go Doo-shim), a prominent figure in Deokpung Village. When Dam Ye-jin visited the village again, she renewed her request but was rejected. The tension escalated when Matthew mistook her for a trespasser after seeing her climb over his wall, even calling the police.
Despite the friction, Dam Ye-jin remained persistent. After witnessing Matthew carefully tending to the mushrooms overnight, she began to trust him and became more determined to resolve their misunderstandings. Near the end of the episode, an emotional moment unfolded when she called Matthew late at night and broke down in tears, raising anticipation for how their relationship will evolve.
Following the broadcast, viewers reacted positively, praising the pair’s chemistry and the drama’s tone. According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 2 recorded a nationwide rating of 3.7%, peaking at 4.9%.
