Comedian Yoo Jae-seok takes on a new role as a rookie camp director in Netflix’s upcoming variety show ‘Yoo Jae-seok Camp,’ which is set to premiere on May 26.
‘Yoo Jae-seok Camp’ is a group-camp reality program where Yoo Jae-seok teams up with Lee Kwang-soo, Byeon Woo-seok, and Ji Ye-eun to spend two nights and three days with guests. The show presents a variation of the guesthouse format, focusing on structured group activities designed to bring participants together.
In this series, Yoo Jae-seok departs from his usual polished MC image and takes on a more inexperienced but dedicated role as a “rookie camp director.” Managing a large group while navigating unpredictable situations, he is expected to showcase a different side of his on-screen persona.
The teaser released on the 28th introduces the camp setup, beginning with a large-scale welcome event. The staff greet incoming guests with the line, “We’ll give you a taste of heaven,” before revealing a tightly packed schedule.
The program includes early-morning wake-up missions, meals, group games, evening activities, and late-night sessions, creating a continuous flow of events over the two-day, three-night stay. As the schedule progresses, the cast members are shown reacting to the demanding pace, including Yoo Jae-seok remarking, “Even the boss can’t get a break.”
According to the production team, the show’s defining feature is its “camp” structure, emphasizing organized activities rather than simple lodging. Elements such as quizzes, missions, and campfire gatherings aim to recreate the atmosphere of school retreats.
‘Yoo Jae-seok Camp’ will premiere on Netflix on May 26.
