Actor Lee Jae-wook will reportedly miss the official production showcase for his next project due to his upcoming military enlistment.
According to Star News on the 6th, Lee Jae-wook will not attend the press conference for ENA’s new Monday–Tuesday drama Doctor on the Edge, scheduled for later this month. With enlistment set for May 18, the decision appears unavoidable as he prepares for boot camp and military service.
Even if he can’t stand on stage at the official event, Lee plans to keep working right up to enlistment. He is set to film the web variety show Bap Eun-yeong and promote the drama across various channels to ease fans’ disappointment.
Doctor on the Edge is a medical romantic comedy about a prickly public health doctor, Do Ji-ui (played by Lee Jae-wook), who is dispatched to the infamous island of Pyeondong-do, and a secretive nurse, Yuk Ha-ri (played by Shin Ye-eun). The buzz is already strong thanks to the pairing of trending youth stars Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun.
Meanwhile, Doctor on the Edge premieres June 1 and will also be available to global viewers via Genie TV and Disney+.
