Before it even aired, Seo In-guk’s “unicorn boss” buzz and Park Ji-hyun’s picture-perfect K-office vibe had everyone talking — and now the curtain is finally up.
Premiering on the 22nd, tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama See You at Work Tomorrow! kicked off with a hyper-real office romance that’s already turning heads.
The story begins with rule-obsessed manager Kang Si-woo (played by Seo In-guk) and seventh-year employee Cha Ji-yoon (played by Park Ji-hyun), who’s stuck in a career slump. In the first episode, Ji-yoon’s narration — “Even if I get ghosted, I still go to work” — struck a nerve. Despite being blindsided with a breakup on the very day she was planning a proposal, Ji-yoon keeps showing up at the office, resonating with countless working viewers.
Things heat up when the stern boss Kang Si-woo shows up as the “3 NO” man, and a production halt at the Gwangju factory ignites their first fierce showdown. His line, “A Plan B is the last card you play after you’ve done your absolute best,” perfectly captured his no-compromise principles and left a strong impression. Yet behind the icy image, Si-woo surprises Ji-yoon by retrieving her lost idea notebook, hopping on her bus, and saying, “If it were me, I’d give you 10 ‘Great Job’ stamps,” revealing an unexpectedly gentle side.
Ji-yoon later asks whether she should attend the wedding of her respected design team lead, Choi Su-jin (played by Park Ye-young), only to learn Choi’s ex-husband is none other than Kang Si-woo. Feeling bad, she texts an apology. Si-woo replies, “If you’re sorry, buy me a drink,” and the two make weekend plans. Over drinks, they open up about their scars, and Ji-yoon confesses, “Dating and going to work are the same thing.”
But it’s the ending that really grabbed viewers. Supporting a tipsy Ji-yoon, Si-woo warns, “Be careful. When you fall at our age, you break bones.” Then he adds, “What are you doing tomorrow? If you’re free, let’s meet again,” dialing up the butterflies. When Ji-yoon asks back, “Do you want to come over to my place for one more drink?” anticipation for what comes next skyrockets.
Right after the broadcast, online communities and social media lit up with comments like “I thought this was my story,” “Seo In-guk is such a fox,” “Can’t wait for episode 2,” and “Their chemistry is exploding.”
According to Nielsen Korea, the premiere posted a solid start with an average 4.8% and a peak 6.0% rating among households in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Meanwhile, See You at Work Tomorrow! airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m., with replays available in Korea via TVING and Wavve, and overseas on Prime Video.
