Actor Gong Myung revealed the real story behind the photo of him and Han Hyo-joo taken at a baseball game.
On the 22nd, Gong Myung sat down for an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, as the lead of the Netflix film Husbands in Action. He not only discussed the movie but also addressed how he and Han Hyo-joo were photographed together at a baseball stadium, which quickly became a hot topic.
“I was doing a script reading with senior actress Han Hyo-joo, and I didn’t realize there was already an article about us going to the ballpark,” he said. “A fan saw the article and came to the stadium. Fans kept walking back and forth in front of us. One came up to me and said, ‘I saw the article and rushed right over.’”
He continued, “When I searched it, there was a photo of me eating soondae (Korean blood sausage). Hyo-joo burst out laughing at that. She even brought up the photo during our next reading and laughed again. The article read like a dating sighting, but thankfully a lot of people said we looked good together, so I thought, ‘Well, that’s actually not bad.’”
Gong Myung is set to co-star with Han Hyo-joo in the upcoming MBC drama Your Ground, which is where this lighthearted dating-rumor moment began.
Meanwhile, Husbands in Action is a comedic action film about an unpredictable rescue mission carried out by ex-husband Choong-sik (Jin Sun-kyu) and current husband Min-seok (Gong Myung) after a criminal organization kidnaps their wife.
