Prosecutors have demanded a 10-year prison sentence for a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, who allegedly broke into the home of singer‑actress Nana, formerly of After School.

On the 19th, the fifth hearing for Mr. A on charges of robbery causing injury was held at the Uijeongbu District Court’s Namyangju Branch Criminal Division 1. Prosecutors argued, "The crime was grave, he shows no remorse, and he has not reached a settlement with the victim," requesting a 10-year sentence.

Prosecutors further stated, "The defendant unlawfully entered the residence while armed and threatened female victims, necessitating stern punishment."

Mr. A countered, "I didn’t have a knife when I entered the house. I was startled when I ran into Nana’s mother. She was also shocked and told me to leave. I only attempted theft; I did not commit robbery with violence," admitting an attempted theft but denying a robbery charge. His attorney added in closing, "He entered at night with the intent to steal, not to rob, and there is no evidence he carried a weapon during the break‑in."

The incident began on November 15 last year, when Mr. A broke into Nana’s residence in Acheon-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi Province. At the time, Nana and her mother subdued him after a struggle and handed him over to police.

Mr. A later countersued, claiming he was injured while being restrained by Nana and her mother and accusing Nana of attempted murder, among other charges. Police determined Nana’s actions were self‑defense and closed the case without referral.
