Singer-producer Rhymer opened up about how he’s been coping after his divorce and what he wants for the future.
On the 20th, a video featuring Rhymer as a guest was uploaded to singer K.Will’s YouTube channel. The two naturally dove into talk about marriage and divorce, sharing their honest thoughts.
Rhymer appeared relatively calm about life after the split. Looking back with a laugh, he said he was “caught off guard because it was so soon” when K.Will reached out to book him right after the divorce news broke. He also grew serious as he remembered the friends who attended his wedding, adding, “I still feel sorry to the people who came.”
He was equally candid about his views on marriage and divorce. “Every experience has meaning, but there are some you don’t necessarily have to go through,” he said, revealing the complicated emotions around the breakup. He added, “I think marriage isn’t just about two people—it’s about two families coming together,” confessing he felt apologetic to his parents and relatives.
Even so, Rhymer hasn’t let go of hope for what’s next. “I’m dreaming of new love. I want to meet someone good and build a family again,” he admitted. “Through my first marriage, I learned what really matters and what to look for when building a life together,” he added.
Rhymer married former reporter-turned-broadcaster Ahn Hyun-mo in 2017, and in 2023 they announced their divorce.
