After a lawyer’s negative remarks about singer Shinji and Moon Won’s marriage sparked major controversy, attorney Ko Seong-rok issued a blistering rebuttal.
On May 7, attorney Lee Ji-hoon referenced Shinji’s marriage on his YouTube channel, saying, "If she were my younger sister, I would never have let her get married." He added, "You should be cautious when getting married and quick when divorcing," arguing that if there was any deception during the process, they should divorce immediately — comments that drew public outrage.
In response, attorney Ko Seong-rok took to his YouTube channel Korean Legal Titan and social media to directly criticize his colleague’s irresponsible remarks. Ko said, "She’s choosing to marry even while enduring criticism from the entire nation — how is it human to pile on and hurl more curses at her?"
Ko continued, "There are far too many people with the title of attorney saying deranged things," sharply condemning behavior that abandons a legal professional’s social responsibility and dignity. As an expert who analyzes entertainment industry cases through a legal lens, he argued that hurling baseless insults at an individual’s private life betrays a lawyer’s calling.
Meanwhile, despite various rumors and worried scrutiny, Shinji and Moon Won tied the knot on the 2nd amid many blessings.
