Singer Kim Jong-kook's mother opened up about her honest thoughts on stepping away from the SBS variety show My Little Old Boy.

On the 9th, Kim Jong-kook uploaded a video to his YouTube channel documenting a trip to Las Vegas, USA, with his mother. He explained that a few unexpected free days popped up, so he decided to travel with her. "Last year was my mom's 80th birthday, but because of various things, I couldn't really celebrate it properly," he said, adding that the trip was a belated birthday treat.

In Las Vegas, the mother and son enjoyed quiet quality time, dining out and shopping together. At the gym, Kim took on the role of a one-day trainer to help his mom work out. She joked, "If I come down with body aches, don't blame me," but still powered through to the end, making viewers smile.

On the final day, when Kim asked for her thoughts on the trip, his mother said, "Thanks to my son, I came to a place I never imagined, saw a lot of great things, and had a wonderful time," expressing her gratitude.

The conversation naturally shifted to leaving My Little Old Boy. Kim asked if she felt sad about no longer appearing on a show they had been on for a long time. His mother firmly replied, "It's only natural not to go on if my son is married." She continued, "I prefer that my son got married," revealing she was happier about his new beginning than any disappointment over leaving the program.

Kim Jong-kook and his mother had been beloved by viewers during their long run on My Little Old Boy. But after Kim's marriage, their departure from the show followed naturally.

Meanwhile, in September last year, Kim Jong-kook held a private wedding with a non-celebrity woman.
