Actor Namgoong Min proudly praised the loving support of his wife, Jin A-reum, sharing a glimpse of their happy married life.
On the July 2 broadcast of KBS2’s variety show Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, chef Lee Yeon-bok unveiled a brand-new segment called “Lee Yeon-bok Realty,” built on the concept of “We may not find you a house, but we’ll find you the perfect dish.” The first guest was actor Namgoong Min, with Kim Won-hoon joining as a supporting MC to amp up the fun.
Arriving with a bouquet in hand, Namgoong Min discovered a mission in an empty space and began cooking using only what was in the fridge. Known for his strict self-discipline, he chose chicken breast fried rice.
But watching his process, Lee Yeon-bok burst into laughter, calling it “a complete mess.” He then stepped in, tweaked the fried rice, and—with just a few pro tips—turned it into a perfectly balanced, flavor-packed golden fried rice. Tasting it, Namgoong Min marveled, saying, “It’s totally different from mine. It feels upgraded into real cooking.”
Namgoong Min also faced off against Kim Won-hoon in a quickfire cook-off. Having once played a chef in a past project, he confidently showed off his wok skills—and his unexpected competitive streak drew laughs. Their seamless back-and-forth banter made it hard to believe it was their first time meeting.
His talk game shined, too. He candidly shared his daily self-care routine, the effort he puts into acting, and smoothly plugged the KBS2 drama The Husband, which premieres on July 4.
What really stole the spotlight, though, was his affection for his wife. After recently announcing they’re expecting, Namgoong Min opened up about married life and revealed that his wife—who’s great at cooking—often packs him homemade lunch boxes. His sweet shout-out to her support offered a heartwarming peek into the life of a soon-to-be dad.
