Former MYTEEN leader Eun-soo Choi has shocked fans with a surprising life update: after closing the chapter on his idol career, he’s now thriving as a commercial airline flight attendant.

Choi passed Jeju Air’s 2024 open recruitment for cabin crew and has been working there ever since. He announced his completion of flight attendant training on his personal social media and marked his fresh start by sharing photos with his fellow trainees.

Choi first debuted in 2015 with the multinational group NPI, then re-debuted in 2017 with MYTEEN. He gained attention as the group’s leader, but the team went through disbandment after ending activities in 2019. Following his mandatory military service, Choi explored different jobs while searching for a new career path.

After trying roles in office work, apparel retail, and the hotel industry, Choi realized his strengths lay in the service sector and set his sights on becoming cabin crew. His Japanese and English skills, honed during his idol days, appear to have been a major advantage in the hiring process.

In a previously shared video, Choi admitted, “It would be a lie to say I have no lingering feelings about my idol career,” but added, “I’m fully satisfied with my life now and living happily.” He also said, “I want to send words of support to all job seekers and office workers.” These days, he stays connected with fans by posting about his daily life as a working professional on social media.

Choi isn’t the only former idol to switch paths to the skies. Hana, formerly of the group gugudan, is also active as a flight attendant. Though they’ve taken different roads, both are earning widespread support as they build new lives in their own ways.
