Shocking reveal: Former Jewelry member and singer Seo In-young nearly became the female lead voice on PSY’s global smash 'Gangnam Style' — but she turned it down.
On the 27th, Seo In-young looked back on past collaborations on her YouTube channel, sharing a special behind-the-scenes story with PSY. "Our chemistry in the studio was amazing," she recalled. "We wrapped the recording in just 20 minutes. PSY especially loved my voice."
She then dropped the bombshell about 'Gangnam Style'. "PSY offered me the very first part of 'Gangnam Style'," she revealed, explaining that the rap line starting with "A girl who is warm and down-to-earth during the day" was originally meant for her. "In a way, the whole female-version concept was me," she added.
Seo In-young openly expressed regret about not accepting the offer back then. "I didn’t really talk about it elsewhere because I worried it might sound exaggerated," she said. "Looking back, I really regret my choice. If I ever get another chance, I’d do it in a heartbeat." She ended on a playful note: "I’m ready to nail the horse-riding dance, too."
Meanwhile, Seo In-young has been connecting with fans through candid content on her YouTube channel.
