After a bitter fallout that derailed his FANTASY BOYS debut, Yoo Jun-won is staging a comeback — joining a new agency and preparing to debut again.
On the 4th, rookie agency CONTI stated, "We signed an exclusive contract with Yoo Jun-won this March," adding, "Yoo Jun-won is set to debut as a member of our new boy group, which is currently preparing to launch."
The label said it would provide full support so Yoo Jun-won can focus on music and the stage. Over the past three years, he has continued training and self-development, preparing for a fresh start.
CONTI’s upcoming rookie boy group will include Yoo Jun-won and contestants recognized for their skills on shows like Mnet’s 'Boys Planet.' CONTI plans to reveal the team’s lineup details and debut schedule in stages at a later date.
Yoo Jun-won also spoke directly to fans. Through his social media, he wrote, "It took me far too long to finally say hello like this," and, "There were so many days over the past three years when I wanted to speak but couldn’t." He continued, "All I could do was endure, and the time I had to shoulder everything alone was longer than I expected," adding, "Still, I didn’t stop. Now I’ve met a company that will genuinely support me and members who will run alongside me."
He described this return as his second attempt. "I’m preparing in a way I won’t be ashamed of, always keeping in mind those who have believed in me," he said, adding, "As for parts that have been reported contrary to the facts, I will respond calmly through legal means."
CONTI also addressed the existing legal disputes surrounding Yoo Jun-won. The company explained that, prior to signing the contract, it reviewed the matter thoroughly with legal counsel and confirmed there are no legal obstacles to his future entertainment activities.
It further pledged active support regarding the ongoing damages lawsuit, adding that it will take strong action, including legal steps, against defamation based on false information or any attempts to hinder activities.
Previously, Yoo Jun-won placed first on the MBC audition program 'Fantasy Boys' and was slated to debut in the group FANTASY BOYS. However, during debut preparations, conflicts arose with the production company Funky Studio over contract terms, including profit distribution.
Although Yoo Jun-won sought a preliminary injunction to suspend the exclusivity of his contract, the request was denied. Funky Studio then filed a damages lawsuit against him and, this February, announced a stronger stance that included an additional claim for damages.
With legal battles still ongoing, attention is now on the new agency’s group and how Yoo Jun-won will present himself to the public.
