Shocking controversy: Guk Dong-ho — the accountant-turned-influencer who appeared on Netflix’s hit dating show Single’s Inferno 4 — has flatly denied school bullying accusations and vowed a hard-line legal response. A civilian also named as a co-perpetrator is protesting their innocence, turning the uproar into a fierce battle over the facts.
On the 5th, Guk’s agency Mood issued an official statement saying, "All recently raised school bullying allegations are completely baseless." They continued, "Claims that Guk ordered others to commit school violence, that he caused public humiliation in the so-called 'cake incident,' and that his choice to leave accounting for influencing is causing the alleged victim psychological pain have all been reviewed and found to be untrue."
The agency also addressed specific individuals who were identified online as co-perpetrators, explaining, "It has been confirmed they have no connection whatsoever to this incident." The company added, "We regret that naming innocent people is fueling confusion. If the accusers are confident their claims are true, they must prove them through formal legal procedures, not a public opinion battle."
In closing, the agency stressed, "Unauthorized distribution of Guk Dong-ho’s childhood photos online or framing unspecified people as perpetrators must stop," adding, "We are monitoring related posts and will pursue every possible legal measure, including IP tracking." They further noted there would be no leniency in their response.
The controversy began when an active attorney, referred to as A, claimed on social media that they were bullied in school by a group associated with Guk. A alleged that Guk publicly made a "confession attack" that humiliated them, while a person identified as Guk’s girlfriend led the bullying by hitting A’s head with a badminton racket, placing thumbtacks on a chair, and smearing glue on a locker padlock. Guk previously denied the claims on his own social media, stating, "I have never participated in or abetted violence by third parties, nor did I date the individual who was named."
An ordinary citizen, referred to as B, who was also named, directly issued a statement as well. B said, "Overnight, I became labeled a school violence perpetrator," adding, "I never dated Guk Dong-ho, nor have we stayed in contact." They continued, "My family and acquaintances are being attacked," and pleaded, "Unverified claims are destroying a private individual’s life."
With both Guk Dong-ho and the named individuals denying the allegations, many expect the dispute to be settled through legal proceedings.
