NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stunned viewers by personally shouting out MAMAMOO’s Hwasa and even naming her brand-new single, proving his unexpected love for K-pop.
On June 7, tvN’s variety show You Quiz on the Block pre-released part of Huang’s appearance on its official YouTube channel. In the clip, Huang’s deep interest in K-pop and Korean content immediately grabbed attention.
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, "Do you listen to K-pop often?" Huang referenced "GOLDEN," a track from the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop: Demon Hunters' OST, then added, "I really like Hwasa’s music."
He went even further, surprising everyone by precisely naming one of Hwasa’s signature songs, 'Good Goodbye,' as well as her newly released single 'So Cute.' Yoo Jae-suk, taken aback, replied, "You even know the new song?" before adding with a laugh, "Hwasa’s 'So Cute' is going to blow up. Hwasa must be thrilled."
Huang’s admiration didn’t stop there. He praised, "Hwasa is a very captivating artist. She has outstanding vocals and she’s an excellent dancer," showing genuine appreciation for both her music and performance—not just name recognition.
Another teaser also revealed Huang’s down-to-earth side. When asked, "Among Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, who are you closest to?" he instantly answered, "So easy," piquing curiosity.
