Netflix has officially greenlit the new series Paper Man. The casting is already going viral.
Paper Man follows a man who has lived in obscurity until he begins producing flawless counterfeit bills, dragging him into a whirlwind of crime. The series is directed by Lee Il-hyung, known for A Violent Prosecutor, Remember, and Karma.
Protagonist Cha Myeong-jo works at a mock sticker workshop and is constantly belittled by his judge wife—an ordinary breadwinner whose life flips when he accidentally creates ultra-precise fake banknotes. Blending raw human greed for money with philosophical questions about authenticity, the thriller cranks up the tension. Jo Jung-suk plays Cha Myeong-jo, a man who has never been acknowledged, capturing the shift from a world-weary family man to someone consumed by ambition.
Park Hae-soo transforms into Oh Seung-eop, the chief anti-counterfeiting researcher at the Mint's counterfeit investigations unit, relentlessly tracking Myeong-jo to maximize the suspense. Soo-hyun takes on the role of Go Hye-seok, Myeong-jo's wife and an elite judge.
Meanwhile, Paper Man will move into full-scale production and filming this year, and anticipation is surging to see what story Jo Jung-suk, Park Hae-soo, and Soo-hyun will deliver together.
