Singer-actress Lee Hye-young shocked viewers by candidly opening up about the painful aftermath of her first marriage and divorce.
On June 11, Lee uploaded the first video to her YouTube channel. In the clip, she recalled, "When was my first marriage... I got divorced in 2005," before admitting how lost she felt. Lee confessed that right after the divorce, "I was so overwhelmed I wondered, 'How am I supposed to make a living?'" She said debts under her name had grown so large that she struggled to even get her bearings for a while.
What followed, she said, was a life devoted to paying off those debts. "From 2006 on, it was just earn and repay, over and over. I filmed dramas, did home shopping, and even published a book. I think I did anything that made money," Lee shared. After roughly seven to eight years of relentless work, she cleared the debts and finally began to find stability again.
Lee Hye-young married former Roo'ra member Lee Sang-min in 2004 but divorced the following year. She remarried in 2011, tying the knot with Boo Jae-hoon, vice chairman of MBK Partners, and built a new family.
Meanwhile, in 2024, Lee Sang-min remarried a non-celebrity entrepreneur 10 years his junior.
