Shock reunion alert: Actors Kim Jung-eun and Lee Dong-gun met again nearly 20 years later at a filming hotspot packed with memories from the classic drama Lovers in Paris.
At the end of the July 12 broadcast of SBS variety show My Little Old Boy, a teaser dropped showing the two reuniting.
In the clip, Lee Dong-gun waits for Kim Jung-eun at the very location where Park Shin-yang once played the piano and sang 'Saranghaedo Doelkkayo'. When Kim arrives moments later, the pair beam as they greet each other, thrilled to reconnect after so long.
As they look around the spot, Lee asks, "It looks exactly like it did when we filmed back then, right?" Kim, taking in the familiar setting, can’t hide her excitement.
The two even make an impromptu video call to Park Shin-yang. Kim explains, "This is where you sang 'Saranghaedo Doelkkayo'," but Park seems unsure at first. Kim then laughs and reminds him, "We kissed on the first floor here," prompting Park to burst into slightly flustered laughter.
They also revisit the backstory behind the drama’s legendary line, 'You are in here'. Kim teases Lee, saying, "It would’ve been nicer if you’d held my hand prettily back then, but you gripped it too tight," adding, "On camera my hand looks like a chicken drumstick." She jokes that if you look closely, "it even looks like a puffed-up rubber glove," recalling the shoot with a laugh.
Then came the unexpected bombshell. Kim bluntly asks Lee, "Weren’t you and senior Park Shin-yang a bit awkward back then?" Lee cautiously starts, "From what I remember, at the time it was a bit…" Kim ups the intrigue: "Can I say this? I was kind of upset back then…" sparking huge curiosity about what really happened on set.
The reunion and behind-the-scenes stories of the stars who sparked a nationwide syndrome with Lovers in Paris will air on My Little Old Boy on July 19 at 9 p.m.
