In a viral confession, actor Nam Joo-hyuk revealed he "regretted it every day" after his first on-screen pairing with Roh Yoon-seo for the Netflix series The East Palace — overthinking his words, cringing at his own dad jokes, and even texting follow-ups out of worry. He also admitted he cut out flour for health reasons but hasn’t noticed any real benefits yet.

Nam Joo-hyuk shared that after working with Roh Yoon-seo for the first time on The East Palace, he found himself replaying his words and actions every single day.

On the July 14 episode of the YouTube web variety show 'Salon Drip,' Nam and Roh appeared together, spilling behind-the-scenes stories from The East Palace and revealing the unexpected charms of co-star Cho Seung-woo.

Asked how it felt to team up with Roh in his first project since completing military service, Nam answered, "I regretted it every day." Roh is the first junior partner he has worked with on a project.

"Not just the things I said on set — even the dad jokes I cracked while eating together — I kept thinking, 'I really didn’t have to say that,'" he recalled. "As those moments piled up, I started wondering if I should just stop meeting people altogether." He added, "Even while walking, I’d keep thinking, 'Why did I do that?' I’d randomly text Yoon-seo, 'Did you get home okay?' and if she didn’t reply right away, I’d worry, 'Was I too much?'"

Earlier in the show, Nam also shared a lifestyle update: he’s been cutting back on flour. "I moved out when I was 20 — it’s been 14 years now. I loved flour so much I could eat ramen every day, but because of allergies I’m trying to cut it out one by one," he said. "I used to eat it almost daily, but now it’s about once a month. I still don’t really know what’s improved," he admitted. Host Jang Do-yeon teased his heavy self-blame, quipping, "Just eat flour then," drawing laughs.

Meanwhile, The East Palace is a fantasy mystery occult period drama about Gu-cheon, who can cross into the realm of spirits, and a court lady with a hidden past who are summoned by the king to uncover the curse haunting the The East Palace. Starring Cho Seung-woo, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Roh Yoon-seo, it premieres on the 17th.
