Shin Eun-soo, who went viral earlier this year after going public with fellow same-age star Yoo Seon-ho, is reportedly lining up her next project: the new drama Hyeopban, where she may appear alongside Jang Keun-suk.
According to Xportsnews on the 20th, Shin Eun-soo is set to join the cast of Hyeopban.
The new drama Hyeopban follows Ma Han-sang, a gangster with extraordinary cooking skills, who accidentally saves a college student in danger and ends up hiding out at his place—kicking off a heartwarming, twist-filled cohabitation. Based on a Japanese novel of the same name, it was previously adapted into a Japanese drama in 2016. Centered on soul-soothing, lovingly prepared home-cooked meals, the story promises a healing narrative where characters comfort and cheer each other on—poised to deliver cozy feels to living rooms everywhere.
It was previously revealed that Jang Keun-suk will play the cooking gangster Ma Han-sang, while Lee El will portray the mother of a three-generation household where Ma Han-sang ends up crashing. Shin Eun-soo is slated to play the daughter in this family—and a college student.
Fans reacted with excitement to Shin Eun-soo’s casting buzz, saying things like, "She’s finally back with a new project!", "Her playing Lee El’s daughter is such a perfect fit", and "Their visuals are subtly similar—this will be so immersive."
Meanwhile, Hyeopban is accelerating pre-production with the goal of cranking in within the first half of the year.
