Shocking new move: Eun-young Park, who went viral as the “Chinese cuisine goddess” on Netflix’s cooking survival series Culinary Class Wars, is launching her first solo web variety show. Known for both killer cooking skills and quick wit, Park is stepping onto a brand-new stage—and expectations are sky-high.
Produced by JTBC’s digital studio, the new web variety Bab Eun-young is a cooking talk show where Park cooks and chats with guests from all walks of life. With a concept that recreates buzzworthy dishes seen in manga, films, commercials, and on social media, Bab Eun-young promises a fresh twist.
The teaser released on the 21st showcased Park’s unexpected charm as a rookie MC. She candidly admitted, “My MBTI is I. I’m introverted, so it’s hard for me to ask questions first,” then immediately amped up the energy by shouting, “So, have you eaten?” and “Even if you’re busy, have you eaten?” back to back. The shoot reportedly took place under such tight secrecy that even her fiancé wasn’t told, grabbing even more attention.
For the premiere, actor Kyo-hwan Koo—star of the JTBC drama Modeuga Jasin-ui Mugachiham-gwa Ssaugo Itda—joins as the first guest. Together, Park and Koo take on a recreation of a menu from the hit manga Cooking Master Boy.
The duo’s surprisingly fun chemistry is another must-watch. Things started a bit awkward, but when Park saw Koo’s clumsy knife work, she fired off a blunt joke—“Looks like you’ve never done this before”—sending the set into laughter. As the vibe loosened up, Koo reacted honestly, saying, “This dish is truly bizarre,” and later wrapped filming with, “I think others will feel comfortable appearing on the show, too.”
All eyes are on how Park, through Bab Eun-young, will showcase her charm not just as a chef but as an MC. Bab Eun-young, capturing Park’s bold new challenge, will premiere on April 28 at 6:30 p.m. on the Bab Eun-young YouTube channel.
Meanwhile, Park is set to marry her doctor boyfriend this May at The Shilla Seoul.
