Gung-e neun Gaekkot-i Sanda is a TV adaptation of a popular web novel of the same name. First released in 2007, the original is a palace romance that enjoyed massive popularity. Set in the imperial family of the fictional nation Eunnara, it follows the fiery romance between Noble Consort Gaeri—renowned for her breathtaking beauty but feared for her ruthless streak, earning her the nickname 'gaekkot'—and the cold, aloof emperor Eon.
