The Baeksang Arts Awards has announced this year’s nominees for the Gucci Impact Award, marking its fourth consecutive collaboration with Gucci.
The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards centers on the theme “The Stage,” spanning television, film, theater, and musicals. The Gucci Impact Award builds on this concept with the theme “The Stage of Impact.”
Five films have been selected as nominees: 3rd Year, 2nd Semester (directed by Lee Ran-hee), People and Meat (directed by Yang Jong-hyun), Master of the World (directed by Yoon Ga-eun), The King’s Warden (directed by Jang Hang-jun), and Pavane (directed by Lee Jong-pil).
According to the Baeksang committee, the selected works reflect key trends in Korean cinema and contemporary social issues, presenting themes through perspectives that combine realism with emotional depth.
Following the announcement, reactions among audiences were mixed, with some commenting on the competitiveness of the lineup and others referencing broader discussions surrounding this year’s nominations.
Winners will be revealed at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards on May 8. The ceremony will be held at COEX Hall D in Gangnam, Seoul, starting at 7:50 p.m. KST, and will be broadcast live on JTBC and Naver.
Ahead of the ceremony, a two-day ‘Rooftop Cinema’ event will be held at the Gucci Cheongdam flagship store from May 22 to 23, featuring screenings of the winning works for invited guests.
