Super Junior member Heechul Kim is set to unleash uncensored dating talk on JTBC’s reality show Love War.
Love War is a dating reality program where hosts watch couples on the brink of a breakup and dive into brutally honest debates over whether to make up or break up. Hyori Lee, Jang-hoon Seo, and Heechul Kim serve as MCs, promising raw reactions based on their own dating philosophies and experiences.
On the 11th, the Love War team dropped a teaser spotlighting Heechul Kim. Leading with his idol image, he jokes, “Sorry, but I’m an idol—I don’t know anything about dating. I’m 44, and I still don’t know,” cracking everyone up.
But the mood flips fast. Heechul suddenly confesses, “My first relationship was with an older woman I met at a nightclub,” shocking the cast. Thinking back on past love, he adds, “I was happy when the woman I was dating bought me a PC bang (internet cafe) pass,” drawing attention.
He also opened up about the exact moments he fell in love. “The second I grabbed the steering wheel to go see my girlfriend, my heart would race,” he recalled, vividly painting the emotions of the time. “Even with a packed schedule, I’d text her somehow, like, ‘I’m heading into a shoot now,’” he said.
Hyori Lee didn’t let Heechul’s bold stories slide. After joking, “Sounds like your ex-girlfriend was the leader of some group,” she quipped, “Perfect. I’ll strip it all down and give you a scandal today,” sending the studio into laughter.
Teasers featuring Hyori Lee and Jang-hoon Seo also show off the program’s distinct vibe. Hyori jokes, “I think my love cells were killed by Sang-soon Lee,” while throwing herself into the couples’ fierce emotional clashes. Jang-hoon, known for his cool-headed commentary, hints at a different kind of fun as he reveals a surprising mix of loneliness and lovable clumsiness.
The three MCs will react to each couple’s story in their own way: Hyori with blunt, instinctive insight; Jang-hoon with grounded, real-world judgment; and Heechul with unfiltered experiences and unpredictable wit—diving headfirst into a true love war.
All eyes are on how the near-breakup couples’ conflicts will collide with the trio’s daring dating talk—and what explosive synergy will follow.
Meanwhile, Love War premieres on the 23rd at 8:50 p.m.
