Shocking update: pop artist Nancy Lang broke her silence on life after a recent blind date set up by a matchmaking agency — and despite the buzz, she says she isn’t officially dating yet, while her forever ideal type remains a “brainy guy.”
On July 1, Nancy Lang guested on singer Shin Jung-hwan’s YouTube channel, run by the former Country Kko Kko member. She appeared with her trademark cat plush perched on her shoulder, showing off her one-of-a-kind flair. Joking that she and the doll have “grown old together,” she also revealed she “recently held a solo exhibition,” underscoring her steady work as an artist.
Her ideal type quickly became a hot topic. When Shin asked, “Is your ideal type still a brain-sexy guy?” Nancy replied, “Yes.” She explained that when she once appeared on MBC’s variety show Radio Star, she said she liked “men with sexy brains,” and the phrase “brainy guy” took off afterward.
Questions about her dating status followed. When Shin asked, “Aren’t you seeing someone these days?” Nancy clarified, “I was introduced through a matchmaking company via a broadcast.” Previously, on MBN’s current affairs documentary ‘Special World,’ she visited a matchmaking agency and went on a blind date.
“I was very serious about it,” Nancy said of the blind date, but drew a line at calling it a relationship. “We went on a few dates after being introduced,” she admitted. “But we haven’t moved into an actual relationship yet.”
Meanwhile, Nancy married businessman Wang Jin-jin in 2017 but filed for divorce the following year, ultimately winning after two years and nine months. She later revealed she was left with about 1.5 billion KRW (approximately $1.1 million USD) in debt due to what she called a fraudulent marriage, drawing widespread sympathy.
