Actress Hwang Jung Eum personally addressed the recent controversy over her children's toy giveaway.
On the 26th, through her YouTube channel, Hwang gave a tour of her home, admitting she was still in the middle of unpacking. One corner of the house was filled with kids' toys, and she explained, "I gave away a lot, but after my child's recent birthday, the toys piled up again."
In the process, she naturally brought up the earlier giveaway backlash. At the time, while offering children's items for free, some criticized her as if she were putting out things that should be thrown away. Hwang clarified, "I genuinely wanted to share, but because I hastily took and uploaded photos before tidying up, it led to misunderstandings." She added, "People who came in person helped explain the situation, and it wrapped up well."
A netizen who visited the scene also countered the criticism, saying, "The toys, baby clothes, and books were given away for free," adding that "other items were organized like a flea market," disputing claims that they looked like trash. Around that time, Hwang also left a comment saying, "The article wasn't true, so I didn't respond separately," indirectly sharing her stance.
The video also captured a conversation between Hwang and her father. She revealed that while her mother was briefly away from home, she asked her father to help and stay with her. Having come to look after his grandchildren, her father expressed gratitude, calling Hwang "the pillar of the household." Hwang calmly shared that she has long been the family's breadwinner.
However, her father struck a cautious tone about her comeback. He offered heartfelt advice: "For now, it's better to stay quiet and keep a low profile rather than stepping out front too much." He encouraged her further: "If you don't try to stand out and move steadily, your chance will come."
